Exploring nature childminding
'Exploring nature' is a place where your child can learn through play and enjoy the special early years before starting school. We offer child led learning so activities follow the childs lead or are carefully planned and centred around each child's own interests and needs. I offer a full early years experience and also care for children after school as well as during the school holidays. I believe that every child has their unique needs and education should nature this, school is not a suitable environment for all children and I am happy to offer care to home educated children.
Outdoor activities make up a large part of our day, no matter what the weather is doing, as I am a firm believer that the outside environment is the best classroom to learn and grow, meeting every child's individual needs. We are lucky enough to have 1.5 acres to explore at our setting, including an orchard and a pond. Activities include a well used mud kitchen, a potting and planting area, climbing trees, sand pits, pirate water table and a living willow den. The children help to look after chicken and ducks and we are planning to introduce further animals in the future.
Inside the house we have a purpose built playroom, quite room and toilet for the exclusive use of the children.
Healthy eating is very important in our daily routine. We have our own chickens and ducks which we look after and we enjoy their fresh eggs. We grow lots of fruit and vegetables with the children which teaches children so much about the world and where our food comes from, it also encouraging healthy eating. Home cooked meals are provided at lunch time. All meals, snacks and drinks are included in the hourly rate.
We enjoy weekly outing which include visits to the the areas of natural beauty in our local area, the Sealife Centre, Dinosaur Park, Cromer Zoo, various beaches, forests and Wroxham Barns to name a few!
We also visit a weekly music group, forest friends session and gymnastics class.
Messy (sensory) play offers a range of learning opportunities so we engage in this daily.
The children take home with them a Daily Diary so parents can see everything their child has been engaged with that day. It also includes information on what their child has eaten and any sleeps.
Complementing the Daily Diary is the online Learning Journey which is updated each evening with information about the activities the child has taken part in and the wonderful learning this has encouraged. Parents are also encourage to add all the fun activities and days out that they share with their child to make a complete journey of both home and tot school.
Most of all we are a fun, energetic, home from home where children flourish.
